‘Pudhu Vaazhvu’ Project (PVP) was introduced by the Government of Tamil Nadu under its Tamil Nadu Empowerment and Poverty Reduction project, Department of Rural Development, in 2005. The main objective of the PVP project is to address the twin challenges of improving livelihood opportunities for the poor and vulnerable groups and building an enabling environment at the village level that would promote the empowerment of this disadvantaged population in the project area.
