New Concept attended and presented a poster at the Internatinal SBCC Summit 2016 (Elevating the Science & Art of SBCC) at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
According to the organizers, close to 1000 participants had attended the summit representing 46 world countries. The major area of concern was addressing HIV, TB, malaria, family planning/reproductive health, water, sanitation, environment and gender issues through communications.
New Concept attended and presented a poster at the International SBCC Summit 2016 (Elevating the Science & Art of SBCC) at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 10th February 2016 on 10th February 2016 on "Going to Scale in VL Elimination".
The poster presented the SBCC strategy adopted for VL elimination with Group Communication (GC) as its backbone supported by IPC and other media. It covers the first phase of SBCC interventions in seven districts of Bihar covering a population of 14.7 million in VL endemic districts over three months. It demonstrates the challanges and strategy for further scaling to 39 endemic districts in the provinces of Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal covering an at-risk population of over 35 million. This phase is being implemented from December 2015 to October 2017.
