New Concept was engaged by UNICEF to organise a Roundtable on Routine Immunisation in Lucknow to bring together noted editors of media houses and seek their suggestions on comprehensive coverage of Routine Immunisation in UP.

Routine Immunisation (RI) is implemented by government health services under the National Rural Health Mission. UNICEF is supporting the Government of UP in RI implementation and increasing the immunisation coverage levels. The media can play a critical role in this by dissemination of sound and factually correct information.  By creating awareness, informing and educating communities and public at large, the demand for Routine Immunisation can increase manifold.

The Roundtable saw several senior journalists participate in an energetic and consequential discussion with senior Government officials like Mr. Navneet Sehgal, IAS, Principal Secretary for Information, Mr. Arvind Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary-Health and Family Welfare and Dr. Ved Prakash, National Health Mission, General Manager for Routine Immunisation and Ms. Niloufer Pourzand, Chief of Field Office, UNICEF Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Mrinal Pande, author and former Chairperson of Prasar Bharati, was the chief guest presiding at the Roundtable, while senior journalist Sharat Pradhan, anchored the discussions.

New Concept played a key role in engaging and mobilising the media to ensure their participation in the session. New Concept facilitated the session and organised the logistics, venue and materials required for the event.
