As part of its technical assistance program, the A2Z project studied the operational feasibility of implementation of a child anemia reduction package in one rural block (Gyanpur, District Sant Ravidas Nagar) in U.P. and one tribal block (Murhu, District Khunti) in JHK.
All field functionaries of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and Health in these two blocks were trained by the project and then supported in the field in using their newly acquired knowledge and skills. The intention of the project was to make these materials available to a wider audience within the country as well as globally. Recognizing that it may not be always possible to conduct a 3-day training and, in view of ongoing training of field workers on Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illness (IMNCI), “add on” Capsule for optional use was prepared together with an ongoing Training Module.
