One of the major objectives of the Planning Commission is innovation of solutions for planning in the country as well as ensuring that these innovations are exchanged amongst the entire community of development practitioners across the country. In order to achieve this objective, Planning Commission and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) commissioned PRAYAS to prepare a Compendium of Good Practices adopted by the State Governments.
It is essential that core public services are provided to all sections of the population if India has to meet its national goals. If service delivery is not improved for the same, innovative implementation of the programmes is not going to be easy.
